Stand By Me - 2008

In October of 2008 I wanted to recreate the look of the movie Stand By Me with the boys on the train tracks. Classic 1950's boys, hot summer no cares in the world. There were melt downs, bribes with lolly pops, and major attitude from the oldest boy but all in all it turned out the way I had envisioned.

I love going to my brother's house and spending the weekend with my Sister in - law Wendy, Nephew Jackson and the newest Nephew Harrison ( one week old today). The big boys play while us "adults" catch up on our busy lives, hang out and cook delicious food and drink. Ian brined chicken breast for the first time and then BBQ'D them - They were amazing, plump and so juicy (for more info on how to brine go to: http://beyondwonderful.com/how_to/meat_poultry_seafood/poultry_brine.html. By bed time the boys were tuckered out and the rest of us had nice full bellies, a little buzz from the margarita's and looking forward to a wonderul snooze.

Going to the Zoo

The first time I brought my camera to the San Francisco Zoo, I was so disappointed with my photo's. Nothing was close enough and you could tell that they were taken in the Zoo. Well this time I was prepared. I brought my telephoto lens (which weighs a ton) and had a field day. Check out my fav's.

Drive By's

I know I should keep my eyes on the road while driving. That's the problem! I always see things that I want to photograph while I am driving. I keep a small digital camera with me so I can snap those shots when it is safe. Most times I am a passenger other times I have to wait for traffic to stop or if I just can't wait I'll drive with one hand on the steering wheel and the other on the camera.

Who doesn't love booze, boats, bears and Buddha? Booze compliments of Left Bank and Chalet Basque 2 of my all time favorite restaurant's in Marin. Boats are from beautiful Sausalito. The bear is a girl Grizzly at the SF Zoo. Ah and finally my peace and quiet, my zen. I love my Buddha.

I am always looking to capture the perfect flower photo. Most of my friends and family don't really want to look at a million flower photo's - who cares right? I do!
